Our day camp offers campers that aren’t ready for full sleep away experience a way to have all the fun and great musical experiences that we have to offer
The magic of camp with the comforts of home
Not every camper is ready to stay overnight for 3+ weeks. Luckily, you can enroll your child as a Day Camper. This option is available for Maine locals or for families who have housing in Maine close to camp.

Day Camp Schedule
Each day is full of music and fun
8:30am
Arrival
Classes begin at 9:00am, so campers need to be on camp and ready to make music.
Our overnight campers eat breakfast at 7:45 and clean their cabins at 8:15.
1-2 times per week, we have fully recreational days! Day Campers are welcome to join for these or can stay home and take a break.
9:00am – 6:15pm
Music and More
Day Campers enjoy the full benefits of our activity schedule, and will participate in small and large ensembles, private lessons, and recreational activities.
We assign them to a cabin for all cabin activities: meals, rest hours, and group activities. Even though they don’t sleep at camp, they still get many social benefits of cabin living!

Evening Activity
Every evening we have an activity! Day Campers participate in all activities, and are allowed to go home after the activity or concert finishes. Sometimes our concerts run late, and parents are welcome to walk to Saltman Hall to listen to the great music making!

Day Campers return home exhausted and excited from another incredible day at camp!

Financial Aid and Scholarship Information
Full and Partial scholarships are available to families based on financial need. We encourage you to apply or reach out with questions!
- Time of application – Funding is given on a first-come basis
- Availability – Space is limited by applicant’s age, gender and instrument
- Campers of Color – In memory of former camper Mouhamed Cisse, our Mouhamed Cisse Scholarship aims to ensure representation of campers of color at Encore/Coda.
- Campers from Maine – Our Saltman Family Legacy scholarship is in place to bring more talented campers from Maine to Encore/Coda who couldn’t otherwise afford Camp.
There is a scholarship application available as a supplemental part of the main camper application.
If we don’t live near camp can we still take part in the day camp program? Yes…
There are many rentable summer houses in the area, as well as some lovely bed and breakfast establishments. Feel free to check out our Lodging page that we provide for our Visiting Days at the end of each session.
My camper is having a great time, can they extend their summer?
Extensions are normal, campers never want to leave! Contact us to discuss the logistics around extending your camper’s stay.
