A Day in the Life
Days like no other!
There is nothing like spending a summer in Maine at Music Camp. Here is what a typical day could look like for your camper.
Each day is filled with inspiration, friendship, and fun!
There are so many things that set Encore/Coda apart, but here are just a few of them:
- Personalized schedules based on your child’s level of musical experience and goals allows them to focus on one instrument or experience a varied schedule.
- Our tight-knit community of around 100 campers and our 2-1 staff ratio allows us to provide your young musician with the best possible care.
- Our campers are all passionate about music and are excited to get to the next level while enjoying a traditional summer camp setting.
- A screen-free setting empowers kids to fully experience the musical and social opportunities that Encore/Coda provides.

There’s always something exciting going on camp, especially on FunDays and Trip Days!
Every week at Encore/Coda campers experience a FunDay!
These days give campers a chance to relax and to go all out in camp-wide games such as Capture the Flag! Some of our best evening activities, like Rhino Nite, happen on FunDays.
Campers will get to go on 1-2 trips outside of Camp!
Trip days give campers a chance to relax and visit sites in the beautiful surrounding area. A typical trip day could include a trip to a local state park/beach, a hike, a movie, or bowling. During Trip Days, campers also have the opportunity to to make phone calls home.
Cabin Life, Camper’s home away from home.
The cabin is every camper’s ‘home away from home’ during the summer—a place where they can enjoy living with old and new friends and develop their social skills in a group living situation. We generally place campers in cabins in two-year age groupings so that they will be living with other kids at the same stage of development.
Cabin counselors live right in the cabin with their campers, in ratios that vary along with the size of the different bunks, from 5 to 11 campers with from 1 to 3 counselors. We utilize bunk beds and open air shelving units that we call “cubbies” for campers and counselors to store their belongings.
Cabin cleanup and bunk inspection take place every morning, with the weekly winners earning an ice cream party in the dining hall after lunch. Because our scheduling process is so individualized, campers are not scheduled for regular daily activities by cabin, but do attend meals and participate in occasional recreational activities together as a bunk, such as campfire & lip-synching skits, scavenger hunts and other similar events.

Ensuring everyone is included
We have boys cabins on the South Side of Camp, and girls cabins, and a gender-expansive cabin on the North Side of Camp. North Side cabins have bathrooms and showers inside of every cabin, and South Side cabins have bathroom/shower houses that are a short walk from the cabins.
Our nurturing Buddy Program!
Every summer Encore/Coda pairs up a senior camper with a lower camp for our Buddy Program! This fantastic, nurturing program includes writing weekly letters back and forth, Buddy Brunch, and Funday buddy activities!
For Lower Campers, the buddy program gives our youngest campers friends and mentors that they can look up to and aspire to be. They get an older sibling during their time at camp!
For the Seniors, the buddy program is a great opportunity to gain experience working with younger children. This mentoring role is a great way to see if you eventually would like to be a CIT (camper in transition) and eventually a counselor!
