Helena Kim
(Classical Piano)

Faculty Member. DMA candidate in Piano Performance at the University of Cincinnati (CCM). Performs locally and internationally. She has appeared in various venues in Canada, Korea, Chile, France, Holland, and Spain. Also, she frequently presents at national and state conferences advocating for underrepresented composers and various pedagogical approaches. Helena was trained at the Yewon Art School, at the Saint-Petersburg pre-conservatory in Russia, and received piano performance degrees at the Université de Montréal (AD), McGill University (MMUS), and the University of British Columbia(BSc and BMUS).  Helena’s primary teachers are Ran Dank, Kyoko Hashimoto, Mark Anderson, and Eugene Skovorodnikov. Currently, she is working at the University of Akron as the Coordinator of Collaborative Piano. 2nd summer at E/C.

Jeannine Mongeon

Faculty Member.  Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Master of Music in Music Education for the Eastman School of Music (composition concentration with Samuel Adler) and a PhD in Music Education from the University of Miami (research interest is intonation). Studied with Oliver Steiner, Margaret Leenhouts, Delight Malitsky and Oscar Ravina.  Previous orchestra director and string educator positions in MA (Shrewsbury), NY (Rush-Henrietta), NJ (Clifton, Caldwell and Cranford), PA (Palisades), FL (Miami, Florida Bible Christian School and Montverde Academy), and Canada (L’école des ursulines in Québec City). National Board Certified Teacher in Early/Middle Childhood Music. Additional training in Suzuki pedagogy, piano, chamber music, music theory and dictation, alternative styles and improvisation.
